It looks like water loving birds are having a rough breeding season. Every time they get their nests built and get down to some serious incubation along comes yet another flood. These bouts of inclement weather could not be any more inconveniently timed.
The only real sign of youngsters here at Whiteball Self Store is a family of Grey Wagtails, oh and the plague of Goldfinches that appears to be sweeping across these parts. What has been put into place that has encouraged these little beauties to breed so prolifically? Is it set aside habitat? Have they now discovered town habitat with attendant free food from Niger seed bird feeders? It is strange to the ear that frequently, the most common song to be listening too is that of a goldfinch!
